Kinect Star Wars Delayed Indefinitely

Thursday, 25 August 2011 5 comments

MjolnirX - It appears that Kinect Star Wars has been suspended indefinitely. The troubled game has been put on hiatus due to the developer's dissatisfaction with the product thus far. Because the game has been put on the back burner, so too has the limited edition Star Wars themed Xbox 360.
Microsoft to Kotaku:
Microsoft and LucasArts have elected to move the launch of Kinect Star Wars beyond holiday 2011 to ensure the full potential of this title is realized. This move applies to both the Kinect Star Wars stand-alone game and the Kinect Star Wars Limited Edition Console. We will communicate additional timing information at a later date.
Nooooooooooooooo

LucasArts Planning An Open-World RPG?

Tuesday, 23 August 2011 0 comments

Castrum - Unless Brutal Legend 2 is somehow back on, I can't imagine what this might be:
Lucasfilm's recruiting website says the studio is hiring a developer for "an open-world RPG." The mid-level gameplay designer position will work on code and engines for an upcoming (and presumably unannounced) role-playing game set to take place in an open world environment. Other than that, the listing is unfortunately vague, asking only for a talented and experienced individual to work with artists and designers to put code together.
Please God, be a reboot of Full Throttle...
