Castrum - Indie game developer Zeboyd, makers of Breath Of Death VII and Cthulhu Saves The World, have been chosen by the Penny Arcade crew to continue their Adventures series, which was abandoned due to Episode 1 & 2's developer, Hothead Games, choosing to make the DeathSpank games instead.
Episode 3 in the series will have 16-bit graphics and will remain an RPG. With any luck, we will be able to import our Episode 2 saves.

Castrum - One of my favorite games of all-time, Mega Man X2, is coming to Virtual Console. If it wasn't for the massive amount of money/games I lost due to Nintendo tying my Wii downloads just to my broken Wii, I might actually be excited:

The ESRB has rated Mega Man X2 for Wii, meaning it's coming to the Virtual Console in North America at some unknown time. Traditionally, Mega Man releases hit the North American Virtual Console after releasing in Japan, but surprisingly there's been no word yet on a release there.http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/20/mega-man-x2-receives-rating-for-wii-virtual-console/

Blast From The Past - Hardcore Gamer Elitism Began In The '80s
Castrum - And here you were, thinking this is something new to gaming:
From the March 1988 Newsweek article:
Rawson Stovall, a 16-year-old syndicated columnist on video and computer games, warns against the lure of complexity. Arcane simulations requiring thick instruction manuals "aren't games to me," he says. "A game is something with action and a joystick and firing the button and shooting the aliens." For the born-again video-game industry, the key to sustaining this new boom may be not to forget that the joystick generation will always be its best market.Yes, once upon a time, games more complex than Pong were considered "arcane simulations". I guess Farmville and Kinect are the backlash from this traumatic development.

Blast From The Past - Early '90s Gaming Hysteria
Castrum - I'm just glad my parents weren't stupid enough to buy into this lunacy:
Also, note the horrifically-terrible haircuts. Ah, the '90s.
