Sonic 4: Episode 2 Due Out In 2012

Tuesday, 23 August 2011 0 comments

Castrum - I somewhat enjoyed the first episode. Not sure if I'll get this though:
Sega has apparently joined the effort forged by Valve to change the rules of how long you can go between episodic releases, while still being allowed to call said releases "episodes." In a recent interview with Eurogamer, Sonic Team's Takashi Iikuza talked about Sonic 4, explaining, "This year, 2011, is the anniversary, so we're focusing on the celebration title." He later added, "But moving forward to 2012, Sonic will still be going, so I'd hope to provide Episode 2 then."

Sonic CD Coming To XBLA

Castrum - There's really only one response to this:

Major Nelson, majordomo of all things Xbox, took to his blog this afternoon and posted a detailed list of all the games and events that will be spread out across Microsoft's five booths at this week's Penny Arcade Expo. It's about what you'd expect; Gears of War 3 Horde mode, Forza 4,Mass Effect 3, etc, until you get to the list of Booth 432's XBLA titles. Right near the end, snuggled squarely between Retro City Rampage and War of the Worlds, is an unannounced XBLA port of Sonic CD.

Binary Domain Out On February 14th

Thursday, 18 August 2011 0 comments

Castrum - SEGA's new cover-based shooter game has a release date: February 14th, 2012.

Not sure if this one will be good or not. Seems to follow the traditional Japanese route of Mechs, zombies, and a generic storyline:
Sega confirmed with hugs and kisses at Gamescom that Binary Domain will arrive February 14 and 17 in North America and Europe, respectively. The squad-based action game for Xbox 360 and PS3, by Yakuza creator Toshihiro Nagoshi, allows players to command their team via controller or voice commands.

Blast From The Past - Early '90s Gaming Hysteria

Castrum - I'm just glad my parents weren't stupid enough to buy into this lunacy:

Also, note the horrifically-terrible haircuts. Ah, the '90s.
