The games some American Wii owners have been pleading with Nintendo to release in the United States are finally being translated to English and released... in Europe.
In a body blow as devastating to American Wii loyalists as the one that floored King Hippo, Nintendo of Europe announced today that they'll follow up the European August release of role-playing game Xenoblade Chronicles with 2012 releases of action game Pandora's Tower and acclaimed (from-the-father-of-Final-Fantasy) RPG The Last Story.
All three games were made and released in Japan. All three are thought to be pretty good. All three have not been released in America, despite fan pleas, petitions and a letter-writing campaign that involved sending meat to Nintendo of America headquarters.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Okay now I've got that out the way. Yay for being English, and thus a European. I've heard of The Last Story at least, sounds awesome. I'm also what I would consider a "Hardcore gamer" and I lurve Nintendo. The president himself took a 50% pay cut to pay for his console to go cheaper, how can you not love a guy who was willing to do that? I'm not sure why they've decided to do this, and I do hope they come around, because as much as I love Japan and Nintendo, I think that games are a medium that if they can, they should, travel the world freely. It can't be that hard to stick the European version in an American shop after sprucing it up a bit so it works on their consoles. If the gamers really wanted them that badly, they'd find a way to unlock their consoles, and it can be done, though I haven't done it, and import the English version.
